Create a Footb-Owl for Superb Owl Sunday!
In the spirit of Superb Owl Sunday on February 7, the International Owl Center is hosting a contest to turn footballs into owls! Entries must be created out of a football of some kind… small, normal, large, rubber, leather, plastic, fabric, homemade… anything goes. They can be decorated with markers, paint, paper mache, or whatever. The final creation should preserve enough of the basic football shape to still be recognizable as having started as a football. Entries may be submitted in two ways: in person at the International Owl Center or online by submitting one photo of the entry. Each group will be judged separately, and individuals may only enter online OR in-person, not both. Limit one entry per person.
There will be two judging groups: online entries (submitted photos of the Footb-Owls) and entries delivered in person to the International Owl Center. Awards will be given at the discretion of Owl Center staff and volunteers. Footb-Owls will remain on display at the International Owl Center from Superb Owl weekend through the International Festival of Owls.
All entries delivered to the Owl Center must be picked up between March 11 and 25 during regular business hours. Any entries that are not picked up become property of the International Owl Center.

The International Owl Center advances the survival of wild owl populations through education and research. We plan to accomplish our mission through biological and cultural programs and displays, green building design, citizen-science and other research, international exchange of information, the World Owl Hall of Fame, the International Festival of Owls, and other means.
